It is a bit of a rarity in the building industry for the same home to win at both the HIA and MBA annual awards.
So after taking out the MBA gong back in March, we were over the moon to again be recognised by the HIA in late October.
Shaun and Yvonne, our lovely clients from Dudley Park, tell us a little about their award winning home which took out both the 2016 MBA Best Contract Home $400K-$500K and the 2016 HIA Project Home category - $300K to $450K for this stunning custom designed home on the Mandurah canals.
We caught up with Shaun to find out a little bit more about what went in to creating this stunning holiday style retreat! But first let’s take a look at some of the stunning photos…
Tell us a bit about you and your family – who lives in the home? What you do for work/fun?
“It is only myself and my wife, Yvonne, who live in the home. Our children have all grown up and have there own families now. We were looking at setting ourselves up for retirement in a few years and what better place to retire than on the canals in Mandurah. We kayak in the mornings and go out on the boat crabbing in the afternoon, fantastic lifestyle. I work in Wangara and Yvonne works locally and it is always lovely to come home too.”
What was the main motivation to build a new home?
“We wanted to build our dream home for our retirement. We love coastal living, so we wanted to make sure we incorporated the canal views and lifestyle in our design.”
What do friends and family say about the home?
“They love it, the problem is they always want to stay!”
Why did you choose Novus Homes?
"Vision One had the design we were after, they were a pleasure to deal with from the girls in Admin to Sam and Paul the supervisors. I would build with them again.”
Do you have any favourite rooms/areas in your home?
“The Alfresco with the built in kitchen, its great to cook a BBQ and watch the dolphins swim past! Oh, and the theatre room for when we want to relax and watch a good movie.”
Stunning Master Ensuite
This home boasts an ensuite to match the quality of the rest of the home. Who wouldn't love relaxing into that tub after a successful day of fishing out on the canals.
