Or for those who want to start with a blank sheet of paper, our in-house design team can work with you to create a custom designed single or two storey home from scratch.
At times it can seem daunting to choose from so many different home designs, so here are some things to think about to help you narrow down your search, you will also find useful filters to use on this page to focus the search for your new home.
The first thing to really consider is whether you want to look at house designs that are single storey or two storey. Obviously there are pro's and con's for both. Many people prefer single storey as they find the floor plan has a better flow to it, and of course there are no stairs to worry about. However some people prefer two storey house designs because of the separation and zoning it provides, a perfect example being all the minor bedrooms being upstairs with an activity room, creating a 'kid zone'.
Block size will always be a big factor to determine whether you prefer single storey or double storey home designs. Two storey homes usually have a smaller footprint, which is a key benefit for building on smaller blocks of land.
You should also consider the width of the land too. You will find that you can sort by block width using the filters on this page. From our experience you will get the best result when you find a house plan you like that is relatively close to the width that will best suit your block.
If you own a narrow block you can also check out our range of narrow lot homes, specifically designed for those narrow lots with a width of less than 15 meter.
Other things to consider would be room configuration. Use the 'Type' drop down menu to find the type of home that best suits your needs. That may be that you prefer to have the master bedroom downstairs or up, a house plan to suit a block with rear views, or perhaps you have a cottage lot with rear lane access. It is just another tool to help narrow your search for your new home.
