Why did you originally decide to build?
We have built several times in the past but still had a vision for our dream house. We set about finding our dream block in an inner city leafy suburb, the perfect backdrop for our inspiration. Once found we were on our way to create our new home.
What were you looking for in your new home?
We had always dreamed of a traditional Hamptons style house with an eye catching elevation and a high standard of finish throughout. A light, airy and homely house that would stand the test of time was the concept. In addition, several modern touches to be integrated without diminishing the traditional look. The ultimate goal though was to build a truly unique, one of kind custom home, a collection of hundreds of beautiful little ideas and roll them all in to one perfect house.
Why did you choose Novus Homes to build your new home?
It was critical to find a builder that would work with us on the design, but who could also offer the high quality finish and fittings we wanted at a competitive price. We spoke with several past Novus clients and also viewed their display homes, both finished and under construction and our decision was easily made then. Once we found Novus we did not look any further.
How was the initial design process?
We had a very clear concept for our new home and it was evident from the first meetings that Novus were more than willing to work with us to complete the home as we had visualised. It was a testament to their team, how much research and advice they were able to offer along the way right down to minute little details and offering valuable suggestions about better use of space and flow within the house. Everyone took ownership of the project and were always enthusiastic about the plan from the beginning to end.
How was the building process?
Novus kept us informed every step of the way. They were always available to talk about the progress and we received timely fortnightly reports which were completely accurate, so we always knew exactly where we were up to.
How have you found living in the house?
The house has been a delight in every way. Every room is completed with the best possible result and it will truly stand the test of time.
